The Warriors Forest is a 4 year old *mostly* traditional warriors role-playing site, set more or less in the old forest (think first series). Though we don't have a Tribe of Rushing Water, we do have all other clans and, of course, loners, rogues, and kittypets. Ranging from beginner to advanced, with lots of intermediate, we have a role-playing school that can help you with anything from mechanics to length. Currently, we have no plot, but hopefully one will be in the making soon. For any further questions, please feel free to ask around or contact any one of the staff, who will be happy to help.

Cinderpaw
A small gray she-cat crept into the clearing trying not to startle any cats Wow she thought as he looked around, her blue eyes sparkled in the sunlight and her pelt showed perfectly shiny. She felt like she was on the top of the world the sun shining brightly her wind ruffling in the wind and her eyes darting back and forth trying to take everything in. Home she thought home at last.... She sat silently her paws itching to meet new cats but she thought she should wait instead of barging into a den and have them thinking that shes a intruder. She sighed tapping her tail on the grass inpatiently. She observed every nest with her keen blue eyes and her nose. One smelled of milk and she could hear the mews of little kits crying to be fed, Nursery she though and looked to the next one. The smell of herbs rode on the wind Medicine Cat she thought something she never experienced. She was just about to look at the next den but she smelled another cat approaching...

Silverstep;
It as a sunny morning, the last remains of the leaves were flying to the ground as every gentle zephyr passed by. Cold enough to fluff out your fur, but not to let your retreat inside of a den. The perfect weather when you just wanted to stretch out your legs and take a lap around the territory. Energy shooting through muscles that were perfectly formed and adapted to taking powerful strokes through the deep water that RiverClan found rather comforting.
Scents of fresh kill, cats, the water, and the approaching chill and frost of the morning stirred the day. Sounds of crunching leaves, the gentle flow of the brook, and the click and clatter of branches tapping each other high above their heads. The birds calling to one another, chatting like no other even in this chilly day. All was calm, along all boarders, as the dawn patrol returned nonchalantly. The smell of fresh kill filled their noses as a water vole was dropped onto the frost covered fresh kill pile.
Silverstep, a beautiful snow leapard in miniature as a bengal, broke through the camp barrier. Already the bottom of his front paws were slightly damp at the sign of a failed fishing attempt. Once the boarders had been scouted and scented, they took some time to hunt. It had been mildly successful, but nothing to boast about. Padding forward, green explosions of eyes scanning the area noticed a lone apprentice rather skittish.
Curious, the happy tom padded up behind Cinderpaw, his shadow and scent warning her of his approach. Stopping next to the small one, noticed how she seemed to hold back a lot of emotion. Examining her, almost pondering what to say or do asked mildly. "What are you doing?" It wasn't an accusing tone, but rather innocent. Almost as if she were playing some type of game and he was asking to play along. Always able to get along with the young rather well. Better than some of his fellow warriors.
Stretching his front legs forward, let cream claws scrape against the hard packed earth. Recoiling back into his stance, let the wind whisp around him. The scent of the water vole causing his mouth to water. Thinking maybe he'd take the apprentice out hunting a bit later, asked, "Are you doin' anything? Surely not planning on swimming today." The thought of the icy water hitting his paws made his fur fluff up. Always rather the stubborn when it came to personal comfort. 'Thank Starclan for cozy warm nests.'

THREE CHEERS, YOU FOOLED THEM ALL!
Vervedash was a fish with fur, that much was known. He had a bounce to his step and an attitude that was the arch-nemesis of depression. Many an old warrior would call him naive, but Vervedash was simply happy with his life, happy with his Clan, and happy with himself. His short, bi-colored fur was matted and soaked, obviously having done laps around the river more than once. If you hated Verve for anything, it was his habitual laziness. Really, a swim seemed much more enjoyable than straining your tendons trying to chase after a mouse that doesn't have an urge to die any time soon.
The cat was just about lazing into the camp, his tip of his tail held low to the ground, yet swishing back and forth against the wind like some sort of canine fellow, his swiveling, tall ears perked like statues atop his small cranium. He was alert, yet relaxed. The tom had no need to pause once he crossed over the imaginary boundary of the RiverClan establishment, his eyes - and nose - snapping to attention at the aroma of his mate's flesh and pelt. Surely Silverstep was a handsome warrior, a beautiful color of truce and prosperity with the hindering spots of death black. Why was it that such a quirky and awkward cat such as Vervedash would be able to land a spot glued to the flank of a strong and good-looking warrior? Unknowing of his hasty paws, Vervedash's gait seemed to speed up subconsciously, closing the distance between he and his mate against his obvious will.
Vervedash was not presentable, in fact, his stuck together fur may seem repulsive to a shallow she-cat, yet some sort of poisonous feeling in his chest cavity seared his skin with an emotion that was much too painful not to fall into submission to. He needed to be next to Silverstep and no sort of physical prowess or lack there of would put a gap between them. "Silverstep!" Vervedash would finally croak out, his tone strained like stretched out cloth over bone due to the lack of talking over a long period of time, approximately a day. After all, Vervedash spent most of his time just sun bathing or drowning himself, metaphorically speaking.
As if their bodies were magnetized, Vervedash's flank stuck to Silverstep's, causing the other tom to become slightly damp. After all, his mate was retaining some water. The two of them had not had their feelings established amongst them for very long, causing Verve to become awkward and socially inept around Silverstep, unsure if the other tom desired to keep their passions secret or if he felt embarrassed in some way. He had the wish to simply lick the bengal on his cheek, though respect for their audience lashed Verve into simply dropping to his rear in a casual sitting position, his hip sharing precious warmth with his loved one.
"Well, who're you?" he finally piped up, his small head tilting to one side like a bad see-saw, his gaze sideways and wide-eyed as he looked at Cinderpaw with pure curiosity. Honestly, he had never bothered learning the names of everyone in RiverClan, and perhaps that was frowned upon, yet the tom could not be bothered. His mind was much more put to use by recalling random trivia or storing other "useless" information. Names was just one of those things that sort of escaped like a one-way train ticket from his brain to emptiness. If Silverstep was not his center of adoration, Verve'd probably forget his name too.
Judging by his mate's paws, Silver had gone fishing sometime earlier today. The water had been icy due to oncoming winter bitterness, yet Verve wouldn't let some ill weather stop him from doing his hobby. In fact, the wild and abnormal cat cat wouldn't halt his habit until the river froze over with a thick sheet of ice. Then, of course, Vervedash would take up the sport of cat ice-skating. You must simply try it, really.
The scent that wafted from the apprentice-sized cat was plainly a mixture of fish and the odor of river-growing reeds. It was, in blunt terms, the passport to RiverClan. Having that sort of smell plastered all over your top coat, sinking deep to your tender, pink flesh was just something that the water-bound forest cats had in common. It was much alike how ThunderClanners always smelled uncannily like pine. To be honest, Vervedash didn't find their scent that terrible. By now Vervedash had gone into a space station in his brain, beginning to doze off into the many worlds and dimensions of his imagination. He had the ability to tune out of things when he so desired. What an odd cat.

Cinderpaw was startled, when she saw the amount of affection the Vervedash showed for Silverstep. She had never seen anything like it before. But she was still young and there were many things she still needed to see. Silverstep had asked her what she was doing, honestly she didnt even know. But she answered simply, Admiring. SHe didnt try to explain. There was no need. Who wouldnt want to admire this beautiful camp! Then Vervedash spoke. 'My name? Really?! Geez there wasnt even wnough cats to get names confused. I barly knew these cats and knew there names!' Cinderpaw The small she-cat had a bitter tone when she spoke to Vervedash. She knew she shouldnt be mean, but she just couldnt stop herself...

Silverstep;
StarClan itself seemed to rain down upon this leopard as ear flicked and head turned to see the beautiful gait of Vervedash approaching. Head slightly erecting, jaw parting the smallest millimeter, couldn't help but cherish the scene. Corners of mouth twitched into an affectionate smile, long white whiskers twitching as he did so. Tail tip slightly raised, tried to appear even a fraction as beautiful. Droplets of water hanging onto Vervie's pelt, muscle rippling underneath powerful strokes. Tail waving side to side, curved hoving over the hard packed terra firma.
Mouth became dry, fur prickled as Silverstep became flushed with a rather unexplainable wave of heat. Fur lying flat as to let the zephyr cool him down, raised a paw and without really thinking about his OCD started grooming it, wanting to appear perfect; without flaw. Though there was no escaping the rather messy torso fur, wet paws, and ruffled chest fur. Sitting down to quickly tending to this, heard his name being called across the clearing. Teeth clicking together as the tom looked, just in time to see the forceful Vervedash slam his rump into Silverstep's. Without much effort, regained balance and felt another liberal flush run to the tip of bengal's tail.
Corners of the mouth twitched again, to be so close and to be wanted, 'Maybe even needed.' A low loving purr erupted from the pith of the leopard tom, endlessly and without words expressing the joy to see Vervedash on this lovely day. Blinking emerald explosions of eyes, saw a rather strained gesture in the damp tom, as if to nuzzle his mate. Cautiously, not wanting to freak out the apprentice or anything, curled the tip of his tail into Verve's. A rather hidden sign of affection, smiling in reassurance, blinked.
Well, who're you? Silverstep could of laughed, no tact just the same as ever. But he couldn't love him any other way. Jaw was parted to remind Vervedash of the apprentices name when she introduced herself. Cinderpaw Teeth clicked together again as a nod curved slender neck. "Actually, I was going out to get some more prey." All of the heat of the flush had faded away, and once again pelt was rather fluffed up. The wet fur sticking up like spikes, though still pressed firmly against Verve.
"How far along are you in your training?" Was there a hint of a challenge in Silverstep's voice? Would there be some kind of test from this warrior. 'Whoever catches the biggest fish gets to sleep until sunhigh.' Or something along those lines. No, it was rather how Silverstep indirectly asked what Cinderpaw knew and what she didn't. To make this day a bit of a joy rather than a burden. 'She hasn't got the enthusiasm of a new 'paw that's for sure. That or she's just quiet.'

THREE CHEERS, YOU FOOLED THEM ALL!
Vervedash's body went into a short convulsive shock, the fur along his hidden spine prickling in the image of a porcupine's back. The sensation of his mate's tail close to his was unnerving, and yet somehow simultaneously very comforting. How was it that Silverstep could feed snakes down Vervedash's throat and cause his tummy to tumble, but then make his mind soar higher than StarClan? Love and affection was a curious thing, and perhaps the two warriors were too young to understand such a concept right now. Their relationship was like a kitty cat version of summer love, without the tire swings and cheap truck rides.
Cinderpaw's reaction to Vervedash's absent minded demeanor was a bit shocking, causing the bi-colored tom to be taken aback a bit. How could such a young cat be so snippy to someone of the same Clan, and someone older at that. Well, surely she needed some sort of disciplinary action. Sadly Vervedash was not the type to deal out punishment with extended claws, his mind was much more focused on Silverstep and the idea of running out to play again. Dilly-dallying and stopping to smell the roses were the highest things on Vervedash's to-do list, right next to sleeping in the sun and and pouncing on Silverstep to annoy him. Oh, youth.
"Oh, who cares how far along she is. We should go out and play~" Vervedash impatiently blurted out, suddenly rearing up onto his back legs like a bucking horse before crashing his underside onto Silverstep's body. Bluntly, he was riding him, looking like he was either attempting to rape him, fight him, or dominate him otherwise. The correct answer would be D, none of the above. Resorting back to apprentice-like behavior, Verve would sink his teeth painlessly into Silverstep's scruff, tugging with his neck on the other tom with teasing force. It was as if he was attempting to topple them both over, with Verve on the bottom and his stomach being caved in by Silverstep's back.
There was something about this quirky tom that always set the playful mood. "We'll go hunt fish or name the trees, c'monnn," Verve would whine, his tone muffled and awkward due to a full mouth of, well, fur. Finally releasing his play mate, Verve would shimmy his way father up Silverstep's body, using him as a couch as his four legs dangled off the sides, the tom's white chin pressed atop the bengal's forehead. He appeared to be a bear rug thrown in front of a fire place. He contemplated closing his eyes and playing dead, perhaps to agitate his loved one, but instead simply began purring.
He wasn't going to give up this fight until this trio was out of this camp and frolicking together. He insisted upon it. However, at the same time, Cinderpaw seemed to be a downer, the gray cloud made pompous with rain and fat with cruelty. For whatever reason this she-cat seemed less than thrilled to even exist. What was it that could make such a young feline be such a depressed little foot note on the history book of RiverClan? Vervedash was a little less than pleased to see this girl come with them, now that he really tossed the idea over and over in the clockwork of his mind.
I mean, what if she only complained the entire time?

Cinderpaw looked at Silverstep with wide lively eyes. No one had asked her that yet. Sadly she was going to have to be the one to spoil the fun. She hadnt had any training yet. She could catch mice and stuff but she wasnt a good fighter. Especially when her temper gets in the way. Her voice was soft and quiet. I haven't-- She was cut off my the annoying Vervedash. Wiping her head around to glare at him. She hated when other cats cut her off. She could feel a soft growl growing in her throat. Just then Vervedash tried to bowl Silverstep over. Cinderpaw stepped back from the rucuse he was making. Cinderpaw wasnt very patient with cats like Vervedash. She was suprised the Silverstep even chose him as a mate. She tried not to judge but it was hard for her. Looking back at Siverstep she let a look of pitty cross her face before she yawned, showing her sharp teeth to the world...

Silverstep;
What a quirk it was to one minute be sitting down, in such a lovely posture with silver fur fluffed out and tail entwined. Then the next moment to have buckle front legs to prevent falling flat on ones face. Ears splaying tot he side, opened his jaw and gave a small mrrrr. Though it wasn't really aggression, rather than a surprised acknowledgment of a cat being over his back. 'I feel like a pack mule.' Though as jaws closed again, shifting shoulder blades gave a small smile.
Tolerating this behavior was rather an act, when in reality Silverstep enjoyed the attention and the close body interaction. It made him feel accepted, welcome, 'Maybe even loved.' Shifting, ducked out from beneath the male, giving a sharp yet infatuated nip on his elbow. Not breaking the skin, or drawing blood, but to let his sand paper tongue run over a small square of fur. Fluffing out fur once more, gave a small grin and started grooming his pelt. Making sure it was absolutely perfect.
Eyes fell to a wet completely messed up patch of pelt. Eyes widening, said in hysterics between licks. "Look... what... you... have... done... to... my... perfect... pelt!" It took twice the amount of effort to make the fur ly flat and partially dry since Silverpelt was continuously licking his paw or chest out of habit. An obsessive compulsive disorder, to make your pelt be perfect at all times, or face the consequences of half a moon of grooming it.
Raising his head again, couldn't help but think that going back into the trees or into the river would be near suicide in this cold weather. THough this over dramatic thinking didn't make Silverstep much of a downer, more of a kit that needed persuading to take his first bite of fresh kill or take the first steps out of the nursery. Sniffing, caught a pitiful glance from the apprentice. Highly affronted, took a sheathed paw and cuffed her around the ears. "Mind your elders." Laughing, addressed Vervedash. "When I'm an elder, I'll be the crankiest one alive! Just for you apprentices."
Standing, let the top of his tail tap Cinderpaw on the rump, "Come on, Vervedash's wishes must always come true. Anywho; we could catch a fish, or climb a tree, or do some other fun activity that happens to appear productive when we're really just goofing off." A small mrrow of laughter issued from jaw, as a purr ran from the pith of vocal cords. Dashing around, glanced at the frost covered, cold, freshkill pile. 'Maybe a warm land mammal as well.'
