HELLO MY CAT FRIENDS (CATS? MY CATS?)!!! I missed you. I have somehow managed to pare down my list of 66 to the 7 characters that I will bring back initially, and they need plots!
Honeybee
thunderclan - 25 - she-cat - warrior - bio - log
Honey's got some baggage she's finally been able to unpack a little in her college years. The daughter of Cedarstar, who probably would have been a good dad if he hadn't died, and Riskflight (DELAWARE), who wasn't a good mom, she and her brother Sandpiper (ashes) only had each other growing up. Her relationship with her brother is warm, though not as close as it used to be, and she's on OK terms with her mom but still talks about her a lot in therapy.
She was Saltstar's (+ JAMIE) first apprentice as leader, an honor but also kinda weird seeing as how he succeeded her dad, and she's still working through her weird hot-for-teacher but also surrogate-father situation that she thinks probably comes from losing a parent young and having such a powerful influence as a young cat. She also has weird feelings about how Smokedancer (leppy) left and it seemed like it was Saltstar's fault- she and Smokedancer were pretty close, and having to confront that her idol/dad figure/old man crush isn't perfect. She also talks about this a lot in therapy.
I imagine Honeybee as very much the 25-year-old I was- trying to come to grips with new adult realities about the complexity of the world, trying to navigate boundaries and define relationships with her family, and trying to find herself. I imagine her starting to explore some romantic feelings (maybe gay ones? maybe straight? who can be sure) and also looking for genuine friendships, especially female friendships. I see her becoming a little more critical, at least internally, of policy decisions she doesn't agree with. She's changed a lot since she was a kid (since her bio was written) and I think she might think twice about the warrior code depending on the specific situation.
I'd love a thread with her and Saltstar + JAMIE; could be doing whatever, but I want to explore how her feelings about him have evolved. DELAWARE not sure if you think Risk will come back but I imagine them being kinda on speaking terms but not close. For others, she would love some new relationships with new cats - looking specifically at JOS and jackelyn as you have girls around her age who I think could be interested in some friends/lovers/both. For Birchmask JOS, I think they could bond over their weird parent situations. For Cranepaw jackelyn, I think that if they became friends it would fuel her complicated feelings about politics/Saltstar. I could also see her responding to a motherly figure like Burningshade Scarlet, since she hasn't really ever had that. Not sure how it would go but I'd also love to see the dynamic between her and Firesoul Christalclear - sexual tension? regular tension? ultimate hate? who can say.
Daisychase

DAISY IS 28? My god I feel ancient. Daisychase has been through his stages- he had a whole thing since his mom Ripplestream was super depressed when he was a kit and his sister died and then she LEFT to go to the ocean when he was like, literally a baby. He was lucky enough to have his grandpa Townwing (now deceased) around to teach him to be a decent guy, and his adopted brother Cosmos-streak ✦dreamy to keep him company. He had a childhood love who then tragically disappeared, became a warrior, his mom came back, they made up and became kind of a happy family, and things were all pretty okay.
When his childhood love Fastflight chill, who he was LITERALLY named after, returned with memory issues, that was also a whole thing. Much of his teens/early twenties was spent helping her reconnect her memories to her clan. Between his love, his brother, and his brother's lover Ottersnarl Scarlet, he's got a pretty good circle of friends. He and his mom are still on good terms, though there's still more distance between them because she wasn't there when he was young. Tornwing's death (peaceful, in his sleep) initially brought them closer, but after the initial shock and mourning, they found that it was still hard to just hang out because they don't have much in common. He's hoping that he can somehow bridge this gap with his mom, since he loves her and he knows grandpa would want them to be close, but so far he's not there yet.
I think Daisy is in general very much in love with Fastflight, happy with his group of friends, but also looking for some personal growth. He's feeling a little lost without Tornwing to go to, and would probably like a sort of father figure, someone to go to for advice. (+ JAMIE - cindersmoke? DELAWARE - whiplash?). I think he's also thinking more about the future of the forest, especially given that he's young and in a relationship- are things going to be better for his kits? How can he make that happen? How can he give them the childhood he wishes he had when he has no example of a normal happy family to look to in his past? He's also feeling weird about the loss of his mentor, Sootstar Eppy, and thus probably has some weird feelings about Tidestar chill - he was used to a pretty warm leader, and I'd love to see how they rub each other. I can also see him feeling protective/mentorly to the younger cats in the clan. Hit him up for whatever.

It wasn't really Sunstar's intention to become leader, but now that she is, she's planning to do an exceptional job. She's always been a big sister to Duskfeather JOS, and in her many years, her big-sister energy has only grown. Like most cats in the clans, she has suffered her fair share of tragedy, both personal and community- her younger brother died as a kit, and her parents died when she and her sister were relatively young; though initially felt to be a poor match, she and Duskfeather have grown close over the many moons since the loss of the rest of their family and are now exceptionally close, even closer than many littermates, and the prospect of leading the clan together is both intimidating and exciting.
Planning to add more to this later when we hash some things out about how she came to leadership
For now, Sun could really use some friends (Mintfeather Minteh Freshness?), and I feel like she wants to be a mentor for strong young women (Winterhunt ✦dreamy? Juncopaw Christalclear?). She has never had a serious mate, though she's had some lights romance (Cherrysmoke ✦dreamy), so I kind of imagine that she's awkward when it comes to any kind of sexual attention, especially now that she's the leader (I could see us having fun with her and Creekwood Christalclear). Obviously she and her sister are still close, and I imagine Sunstar is relying on encouragement from Duskfeather JOS given that she doesn't quite feel ready for this whole leadership thing. I'd also love to talk about the dynamics of the leaders in the forest clans and have plots/threads with other leaders + JAMIE chill Minteh Freshness, especially given that everyone else is like, ambitious and intimidating and emotionally distant or angry, and she's probably got some mad impostor syndrome since she's smol and loves hugs. I see her being comically frustrated by not being able to see over anyone's head in a crowd, and probably feels like the odd one out among the other leaders not only in personality but also in size, given that the rest of them loom relatively large.
'm excited to explore Sunstar as both empowered but also constantly doubting herself - of all my characters, she's the most like me in warm-fuzzy-cuddliness and also in feeling like she's not quite enough for the size of her job, and I'm excited to see how she grows and who she becomes.

Oh, Junebug. So kind and carefree. The kind of boy you think you want to date and then it turns out when you date him that he's actually genuinely just a good nut, if somewhat of a goofball. He's like, less scarred for life than basically all of the rest of my characters- living parents, a good relationship with his brother Wildwind Eppy- his life has been relatively un-rocked by horrible tragedy.
I think the main think that Junebug has going on right now is his relationship with Dewpaw Minteh Freshness, his apprentice. While he has never really had to overcome his own tragedy, he has gained maturity while helping Dewpaw through the difficulties she faces while training with a visual impairment. He's become a better advocate, and has also become somewhat less naive as he's been there through the real struggles of someone close to him who faces adversity that he does not.
Junebug is down for friends, and I can see him having a complicated relationship with a girl his age, though ultimately his heart is for Dewpaw (JOS - Alderclaw is about his age, I think it would be interested to explore them? Scarlet, same for Scarletwinter, would love to see him interact with more girls his age). I think he probably has some weird feelings about Brackenstar Minteh Freshness, since the man is NOT very chill, and I think it would be interesting to explore their relationship a bit, especially since I can see Bracken being disapproving of his blossoming relationship with Dewpaw, his apprentice. I think that Junebug is also pretty likely to have friends who are loners or in other clans, so he's down for that too! I also think he's still oblivious enough that he runs into trouble sometimes.

Tinsel is looking forward to her goddamn retirement, whenever the hell it gets here. While she isn't ancient, she's decided that she's seen enough shit and it's about time for someone else to take over before she loses it, though in truth she'll probably be stubborn and stick around until she sees who's supposed to replace Piper, since she feels like she's got to keep the clan out of the trouble that Axel guy brought on all of them (yikes). While Tinsel sought out BloodClan in her youth, sometimes she wonders whether, after every thing that has happened (including moving camps, the "death" of piper and moss, the tyranny of axel, the horror of the dog attack, and then the ultimate battle with the rogue band that had been terrorizing the clan and the killing of Axel and the re-emergence of Piper to power, courtesy of her taking care of his sorry ass for months while he recovered from injuries related to a bad case of stupidity, thank you very much...) Sometimes she thinks to herself she might have been better off staying the fuck home (but she never would have, that's laughable even to think!).
Now that things have settled down, Tinsel is enjoying having an almost normal relationship with her daughter which involves basically no espionage anymore, and is definitely relieved that she isn't seeing as much trauma in the medicine cat's den. It's weird to have Asch ✦dreamy around and not like, running for his life, and it's weird to have Piper DELAWARE back and not being a whiny baby on the floor of a cave anymore. It's weird to watch Sassafrass + JAMIE and Axel's children coming of age into a relatively normal clan, though she imagines the three feel anything but normal.
Threads I would like for Tinsel - Would love her and Sassafras + JAMIE to have a convo about Axel/the kits as kind of closure on that, if you are down. Would also love her and Piper DELAWARE to have a thread together - they have a lot to talk about, maybe past/present and looking to future? Could also see her shaking down any younger cats to be her apprentice, so anyone who wants in on that lmk. Would also be interested to explore how she and Lucifer jackelyn get along, since they are similar in age and both were around through all the shit that happened... Tinsel, being the medicine cat, is also down to patch your scrapes and shit. Just don't do anything dumb or she'll cut you with her tongue

From birth on, Minnie's life has been a bit of a rollercoaster. She's always felt a little out of place, and now with her father dead, lips seem looser when comparing her to her siblings and her parents- now an adult, it's clear that she's much plainer and shorter than her pretty brother and sister... DELAWARE + JAMIE, I want Minnie to find out about her parentage, either from Sass or Tinsel, OR because her sister finally shows up and is like IT IS YOU MY LONG LOST SIBLING - let me know which you prefer. Now that Sass/Tinsel aren't worried about Axel going aggro on them, I want to explore the drama of the siblings finding out that they aren't all of the same seed, as it were. Down to discuss how this happens. I think this is gonna send Minnie for quite the loop/personal journey of self discovery that will pay dramatic dividends for some time.
Also down to have other plots! DELAWARE, would love her and Tami to get closer. Minteh Freshness, maybe she develops a crush on Shade? She's young and awkward and ready to have her world blown up, so she should have some fun stuff going!

Arizona is still the mother hen of her own house of rag-tag kiddos and ladies. She protects those in the house and takes her duty pretty seriously. She's become kind of a halfway point for cats who need help, so if you have someone who came to the clans and needed to learn to hunt/a place to stay, they may have run into/stayed with Arizona. Her main thing is that she's totally doin' it with this guy from RC (Whiplash, DELAWARE), and doesn't have too many other plots with real people. She's pretty friendly as long as you're not a duck, so hit me with your ideas!

Arizona is still the mother hen of her own house of rag-tag kiddos and ladies. She protects those in the house and takes her duty pretty seriously. She's become kind of a halfway point for cats who need help, so if you have someone who came to the clans and needed to learn to hunt/a place to stay, they may have run into/stayed with Arizona. Her main thing is that she's totally doin' it with this guy from RC (Whiplash, DELAWARE), and doesn't have too many other plots with real people. She's pretty friendly as long as you're not a duck, so hit me with your ideas!
